“ The Eight Limbs of Yoga”
Patanjali, the Author of Yoga Sutras, described the eight aspects of yoga as limbs of a tree.
Ashtanga Yoga is a traditional yoga practise passed down for over 5000 years in India, derived from the teaching of K.Pattabhi Jois - Director and founder of the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore India, spread to the western world in the 1970s.
A dynamic yoga practise, handed down to thousands of students around the world. This method of yoga with its powerful linking of postures and full rhythmic breathing, it is a yoga system like no other. Deep internal heat purifies the body on a cellular level while enhanced levels of concentration relax the mind and the internal energy locks strengthen the nervous system.
